Karnataka’s climate ranges from humid coastal conditions to cooler temperatures in the Western Ghats and drier weather across the interior plateau. March to May brings warm summer days, with temperatures generally between 30°C and 38°C, while the coastal belt can feel considerably more humid. The Southwest Monsoon arrives from June, bringing substantial rainfall to the coast and Western Ghats through September, while the interior receives more moderate showers.

The ideal time to visit Karnataka is October to February, when cooler and relatively dry weather suits wildlife safaris, heritage exploration, coffee plantations and outdoor experiences. The monsoon months are particularly rewarding in Coorg, Chikmagalur and the Western Ghats, when forests and plantations become exceptionally lush, though heavy rain can affect travel.
