Seasonal Rhythm
Uttar Pradesh has a subtropical continental climate, with hot summers, a monsoon season and cool winters. Summer from April to June is generally hot, with temperatures frequently reaching 40°C-45°C, particularly across the central and southern plains. The Southwest Monsoon brings most of the rainfall from July to September, while October and November are generally more comfortable. Winter from December to February is cool and dry, with occasional fog and temperatures sometimes falling below 5°C.
The best time to explore Uttar Pradesh is October to March, when cooler and drier conditions are ideal for heritage, pilgrimage, architecture, wildlife and cultural journeys. Winter is particularly comfortable for exploring destinations such as Agra, Varanasi, Lucknow and the state’s historic towns, while the post-monsoon months bring clearer skies and refreshed landscapes.
