Seasonal Rhythm

Delhi has a semi-arid continental climate, characterised by very hot summers, a humid monsoon and cool winters. Summer from April to June is intensely hot, with temperatures frequently reaching 40°C-45°C and occasionally higher. The Southwest Monsoon brings most of the city’s rainfall from July to September, while October and November are generally warm but more comfortable. Winter from December to February is cool and often foggy, with temperatures sometimes falling below 5°C.

The best time to explore Delhi is October to March, when cooler temperatures are ideal for discovering its historic monuments, neighbourhoods, museums, markets and culinary traditions. Winter provides the most comfortable conditions for sightseeing, while spring brings pleasant days before the summer heat begins.
