Madhya Pradesh’s vast geographical spread creates noticeable variations in climate, but the state broadly follows three distinct seasons. April and May are the hottest months, with strong daytime heat across much of the region. The monsoon, typically from June to September, brings widespread rainfall and transforms the parched summer landscape into a greener countryside. November through February brings the most comfortable weather, with crisp mornings, sunny days and cooler nights, particularly in northern and central parts of the state.

October to March is particularly suited to experiencing the breadth of Madhya Pradesh, allowing travellers to combine wildlife and wilderness with its remarkable architectural and cultural heritage. The cooler months are ideal for pairing safaris with forts, temples, historic towns and rural landscapes. Wildlife enthusiasts may also consider the warmer months, when animals can be easier to spot around water sources, although temperatures are considerably higher.
